Hi Everyone, My name is Lauren, I have recently completed my teacher training at the University of Chester. During my studies, I had the opportunity to undertake a placement at Delamere Forest’s Education Centre.

After the first day, I instantly realised that forest school is a great way of combining my love of the outdoors with my passion for teaching. Once I had completed my placement, I continued to work there for the remainder of my time at University.

As this was more than just a part-time job for me, I went on to further develop my own knowledge and skills by attending numerous adult bushcraft classes with a vision of using these skills to assist in the completion of my forest school qualifications in the near future.

One of the things I love to do in my free time is to go for long walks with my dog and my camera, looking for animals and plants which I could photograph along the way. I especially love it when I find something I haven’t seen before. Another thing which I really enjoy doing in my free time is volunteering as a qualified leader at my local Brownie unit, helping to create fun-packed evenings and events for the girls, including spending nights away as a unit, trips to our local nature parks, coffee evenings and lots of crafting.

Since joining the Forest Frontiers team, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the company and cannot wait to continue helping with the sessions, meeting new people, and continuing to develop my own skills along the way.
